ACCC claims that faulty products continue to cause injury and harm to thousands of Australians with new figures showing that at least 10 people a day are injured and require medical attention.
Surprisingly it is not illegal to supply unsafe products in Australia, as it is in a range of places like the United Kingdom, European Union, Canada, Malaysia and Brazil, states the ACCC.
Some key recalls during the period 2017/18 are cited including the Infinity cable recall which was driven by action taken by the Australian Cablemakers Association. Others high profile recalls cited include the Takata airbag and the Samsung washing machine recalls.
